Applications are now being accepted for the Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG) Scholarships 2022 – Every year, the Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG) awards 37 undergraduate scholarships to Nigerian female students pursuing any degree of study in Nigerian universities.
Note: The deadline for submitting an application is May 30, 2022.
The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG) intends to grant 37 one-time scholarships for $300 each to Nigerian female undergraduate students at Nigerian universities or higher institutions, one per state of origin and one for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Mrs. Dayo Keshi, the then Consul General’s wife, formed NWAG, a non-profit organization located in Atlanta, Georgia, in April 2000 with a purpose to empower women, adolescents, and children in their adoptive community in the United States and in their home country, Nigeria.
Requirements for NWAG Scholarships
- Letter of Origination from the university or a letter from your local government agency as proof of state of origin.
- Two letters of reference from either a Church Pastor/Mosque Imam, a Village Head, a Local Government Chairperson, or one of your Lecturers.
- One letter of recommendation from your faculty/dean school’s or your department’s head.
- A photocopy of your most recent university student ID card
- A recent picture of yourself
- A statement explaining why you need and deserve the scholarship (not more than a one-half typed page).
- A two-page typewritten essay on “HOW CAN YOU RELATIVELY USE YOUR FUTURE DEGREE TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR IN NIGERIA?”
