The Competition is free and open to all understudies matured 11 to 19 concentrating in the UK. Contenders can enter one venture, either all alone or as a component of a group.
General Rules For The Big Bang Science Competition
The competition is accessible to students studying in the United Kingdom and is free to enter.
- Each competitor may enter just one project in The Competition, either individually or as part of a team.
- Entrants must be between the ages of 11 and 18 and enrolled in full-time secondary school or training at the time the project is submitted.
- An entrant is eligible to participate The Competition if they are 19 years old and enrolled in full-time secondary education or training at the time the proposal is submitted.
- Projects will be classified into one of three categories based on the school year of the entrant(s) in the academic year 2021/22
- Only the online heat is available for entry into the competition. The online entry period will begin in early December 2021 and end on Sunday, March 20, 2022.
- Only projects that have been submitted to The Competition will be considered; projects that have not been submitted will not be judged.
- Before their project is judged, all contestants must return a signed parent/career and competitor consent form. Participants who do not submit a signed consent form will be unable to participate in the judging.
- Plagiarism is not tolerated. The project submission must be the sole work of the entrant(s).
- It is the obligation of the entrant(s) to notify Big Bang Education CIC of any changes to their personal information.
- Two judges and one moderator will assess each project submitted to The Competition. They’ll evaluate proposals based on the main evaluation criteria. Following that, the judges will choose a few proposals to compete in the Competition Finals.
- The judges’ decisions are final; no appeals will be heard, and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the outcome determination.
- Big Bang Education CIC retains the right to change these rules and regulations at any moment without notice. Should it become necessary, the Competition organizers (Big Bang Education CIC) will make every effort to notify interested parties of any modifications as soon as feasible.
- There will be one winner in each category (Junior, Intermediate, Senior) as well as an overall winner in each stream (Science or Engineering) during the Finals.
- Runners-up may be assigned to each category and stream at the Finals.
- There will be one winner for each special award in the Finals. Special awards may have different rules/conditions than the core Big Bang Competition rewards, and they will only be given out if these criteria are met.
- On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, during The Competition Awards Ceremony, the winners will be announced.
- The Competition website and any other outlets specified by the organizers will publish a complete list of prize winners.
- Entrants must submit a written submission.
- Videos must be no longer than 3 minutes in length. Judges will not review videos past the 3-minute mark.
21. Written entries will be submitted using a Competition-provided online form template. The following word count must be adhered to by all entrants:
- 150-word project outline
- 300-word project concept
- 400 words on the project process – 400 words on the project outline
- Reflections and next steps: 350 words

22. Any projects requiring human interaction or the use of hazardous substances or devices must adhere to national health and safety rules as well as the guidelines of the entrant’s educational institution.
The Big Bang Science Competition Team Rules
- Teams of any size can finish projects.
- If a team is selected for The Competition Finals but not all members are able to attend, those who are able to do so must represent the entire team and inform the judges of the project area they concentrated on.
- Even if all team members are unable to attend the Finals, all team members must be eligible to enter The Competition.
- If for any reason not all team members are able to attend the Finals, the school or college is responsible for the proper distribution of any prizes granted.
