How To Resolve a crashed WordPress website

If your WordPress website suddenly crashed, you must know what to do as a website manager.
Most especially if your website is hosted live and you already have lots of visitors that make use of any of your services

Cause of Website Crash

  • The major cause of a WordPress website crash is plugin IP clash: This is the process whereby a particular plugin on your website
has an IP similar to another plugin on your website, or due to a plugin installation error.
  • Another major cause of website crash is having outdated WordPress plugins installed on your website. To correct this, ensure to
always update outdated plugins on your WordPress website. But most times, you will want to update your WordPress plugin from the dashboard, but you won’t be able to log into your dashboard. In a situation like this, you are advised to log into your control panel, click on file manager and locate the domain name
that you are trying to work on. Click on wp-content, then click on plugins. Rename the plugins one after the other by adding a number at the front of the plugin. e.g. a plugin
called Akismet should be renamed to Akismet(1) After renaming, visit your website and refresh the browser. if it still crashed, rename the second plugin and refresh your website.
Do this until you rename a plugin that once you refresh your website, should come back live…. Once you rename a plugin that makes your website come back Live, it means that that
is the plugin that caused your website to crash…. it could be as a result of the plugin being outdated or as a result of plugin op clash as mentioned earlier.

What Happens when you rename your plugins using the cPanel

any time you rename your plugin using the Cpanel, it automatically deactivates that plugin.
Therefore, after renaming a particular plugin fron the Cpanel section, and your website is now up and running,
log into the dashboard of your website and activate other plugins that you know that has no issue with your website you might have renamed.
